Download
The freeware version of Letter Blaster can be downloaded here (4.5 mb). I wrote this over Thanksgiving weekend for the Retro Remakes Games for Helen competition. The "Games for Helen" portion of the competition is for the design and development of accesible, one switch games. The idea was to create a new version of an old game typing game I really liked as a kid. The game is designed to be used with a host of typing tools. Players can practice their "typing skills" with an onscreen keyboard or any other device that sends key press events to Windows. Again, like Polyglot Cubed, this is a practice game.
Updates:
- Version 1.0 (11/30/08) - 4.5 mb
How to Play
Type the letter or number before it falls. (pretty simple, right?)
- To play on a PC: download the game and unzip
- If you want to play it in a web browser click here (requires this OSAkit plugin)
- If you want to play the Javascript 2D version of this game, I wrote one a few years ago. Sorry, no epic explosions in the JavaScript version.
Setup:
From the startup screen you can (use the arrows to select):
- Select the starting letter sequence
- Select full screen resolution
- Change game speed (use the s key)
Screens
Here are a few screenshots of the game.
